Jordan Sopjes Car Accident Obituary: Dorr, Michigan community is mourning the tragic death of a young man who passed away in a deadly accident Friday. 22-year-old Jordan Sopjes, a graduate of Wayland Union High School and a current student at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay died in a suicidal/crash on Interstate 41 Friday morning. The Green Bay Packers teammate was pronounced dead in the incident that occurred at approximately 8:am.
What Happened to Jordan Sopjes: Cause Of Death
Law enforcement agencies, a 22-year-old pedestrian was killed after running to the path of a semi trailer. The tragic occurrence happened on Interstate 41 near Appleton around 8 a.m. Police say the person got out of a vehicle and ran in front of an incoming semi trailer. The individual identified initially as a man was pronounced deceased on the scene of the incident. Over a dozen law enforcement agencies responded to the scene of the incident for investigation.
Police Investigation and Statement
Law enforcement agencies say the Wisconsin State Patrol and Appleton and Fox Valley Metro police departments all responded to the southbound lanes of interstate 41 near Meade Street for a report of a crash. Following the cras, responding officers closed the southbound interstate between Ballard Road and Richmond Avenue. The heavily built up traffic was diverted to Highway 441, and there were large backups. The lanes reopened around 1 p.m. The Wisconsin State Patrol is handling the investigation. The person’s name hasn’t been released.

He loved swimming and diving, he was in the Green Bay Packers Swimming team. Jordan Sopjes was from Dorr, Mich, a ivil township of Allegan County in the southwest of the U.S. state of Michigan.

Participated in the 400-yard medley relay, part of a quad that touched the wall in 3:22.99; won the 200-yard butterfly with 1:53.46 at IUPUI (2/28/21). multi-event winner, taking first in the 200-yard fly (1:54.91) and the 100-yard fly (51.31) at Milwaukee (3/7/21)… part of the relay in the men’s 400 medley relay that broke the previous team record of 3:16.60 with a time of 3:15.87; finished fifth with a time of 1:48.96 in the 200-yard butterfly at the Horizon League Championships (4/8/21).
