Daniel Tallman Death – Highland Assistant Fire Chief and OSFM Special Agent Daniel Tallman has sadly passed away. He died after a courageous battle with cancer  on Thursday 22nd February 2024 surrounded by his beloved family, He was announced dead by the Fire Department through a post that says “It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Assistant Chief Daniel Tallman after a courageous battle with cancer for the last 4 years”.

Daniel’s Career Journey

Daniel’s journey in the fire service began in 2002 when he started his tenure with the Pana Fire Department. After dedicating fifteen years to the department, he retired in April of 2017. In 2018, he embarked on a new chapter by joining the City of Highland Fire Department. Demonstrating his commitment and proficiency, he steadily progressed through the ranks within the department. Recently, his exemplary service led to his promotion to the role of Assistant Chief. His contributions extend beyond his departmental roles. He served as a Special Agent for the Office of State Fire Marshal Arson Division, utilizing his expertise to investigate and combat arson-related crimes. Additionally, he shared his knowledge and experience as a Field Instructor for the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute.

Daniel’s dedication to service extended to his country as well. He proudly served in the Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to protecting others both domestically and abroad.
